About
The Westminster Society for People with Learning Disabilities provides quality services and new opportunities for people with learning disabilities and their families in Westminster.
The Westminster Society has a Supported Housing Service that enables individuals to experience as much independence as possible within a supportive environment.
Prior to moving into the service, each tenant has an assessment which looks at the skills necessary to live successfully in a Supported Housing service and more independently in the future.
The team supports individuals to pursue their goals by providing advice, information and practical support.
Each individual has their own plan in place and the supported housing team works with each tenant to support them as they develop skills and work towards reaching their personal aims and aspirations in all areas of their lives.
The Brief
The Westminster society would like to gain funding in order to produce a DVD toshowcase their 14 supported housing projects to prospective tenants with learning disabilities.
Purpose
It is often impossible for prospective tenants to visit supported housing due to the high level of disability experienced by many. A DVD is an obvious solution to this problem, as staff at the Westminster Society can show people around specialist accommodation virtually. The benefits of this accommodation can be viewed in safety and comfort, and the prospect of relocation considered without upheaval and unnecessary stress.
Sponsorship Required
This project requires approximately £1500 per housing project visited. So MIX will be seeking sponsorship from £1500 to £21000.
The Westminster Society will be able to engage Mix Productions to create innovative, bright and accessible media that will do justice to the facilities it operates, and media that shows tenants that there is an easier alternative.
